Postscript: Who Are You People and Why Don’t You Like Poetry the Rest of the Year?

Vox’s note: This blog post has been taken by the Globe and Mail for their “In Other Words” online book section. I’m replacing the full text with a link to the G&M page, so as to be nice to them and their largesse.

Here’s the article.

  1. Unfortunately, they don’t read blogs either. I was at the VIWF a couple years ago. Niels Hav had the crowd in stitches. He killed. One of the best readings I’ve ever attended–and he was reading in his 2nd language. The festival store–sin of all festival sins–didn’t have enough of his books. Some lady–I use the term advisedly because, as you say, this was not a poetry reading habituée–saw that I had one and asked me if she could BUY MY COPY of Niels’ book. Seriously. Where the fuck are these people the rest of the year?

Hey Zach/ You’re right, they don’t read blogs. I put this together for The Globe/In Other Words IFOA coverage, but unfortunately missed the deadline.
