You Might Enjoy Attending #2 (Civil Elegies on stage)

Tickets are now on sale for SoulPepper Theatre’s new theatrical rendition of Dennis Lee’s 1972 Gov. General winning long poem, Civil Elegies. Some of you might know that I have something of a crush on this book, and I’m excited to see it go live and with music in a one-man show performed by actor/sound designer Mike Ross and created by Ross and Lorenzo Savoini.

I can say that the production has the support (or at least the benevolent curiosity) of Lee himself and promises to be, at least, a great experiment. Tickets run from a min of $36 (Earlybird pricing) to a max of $68 (Weekends, premium seating), and strike me as worth the investment. Students can make it in for $28, plus the price of their tuition.

A short overview of the performance can be found here. Box office info is here. And right here is a photo of Stephen Harper about to devour his prey.
